About The Captain

I was born and raised in Western NY, where my love for fishing began fishing creeks and rivers for Largemouth Bass. As I grew up, I also ventured to the mouth of Lake Ontario to fish for Salmon and Trout during specific seasons. However, my journey took an unexpected turn when my family and I vacationed in the Outer Banks, NC.

During our time in the Outer Banks, I instantly fell in love with the place. One day, while chatting with an employee at a bait shop in Buxton, I expressed my desire to live there. To my surprise, he assured me that finding employment as an HVAC Technician would be relatively easy. Intrigued by the prospect, my brother and I returned two weeks later to start a new chapter in NC. Looking back, that was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

For about four years, I lived in the Outer Banks, indulging in my hobbies of fishing, playing softball, boating, and of course, fishing some more. Eventually, I felt the need to be closer to my family, and in early 2022, I purchased a house in Richlands, near Jacksonville, NC.

Since moving, I have dedicated my weekends and spare time after work to explore the local area, learning about the rivers and the unique behavior of fish in this region. Driven by my passion for fishing, I decided to create Salty Toad Fishing to share my knowledge and experiences while also continuing to expand my own understanding of the sport. I have since started painting custom baits when I can find time, as well as running Charters Part-Time.

If you have any questions or tips, I am always available to help. Tight lines, my friends! 🎣
